Nice Happy Hour but this is a smokers paradise. The whole place smelled because someone was smoking right next to the back door. We thought we could get away from it as the backyard is big but… they just kept coming. Kinda chugged our cocktails and left.
We had an unfortunate experience with an unhinged bartender last night! We were a group of 7, everyone bought drinks at the bar and we were sitting at a table in the yard. The bartender came out and noticed that there was a nearly empty beer bottle on the table. Hastily judging the situation, she aggressively snapped at us saying that they don’t serve that brand of beer and that she was going to add a $30 corkage fee to the tab. Fair enough, our bad! The one of us in the group who brought in the bottle is visiting from Denmark and wasn’t aware this would be much of an issue, especially seeing as though he was finished with it and we each bought drinks at the bar. Well, it turns out it was a major issue for this one bartender. In fact, instead of accepting our reasonable explanation and accepting the $30 corkage fee which we were willing to pay, she considered any sort of attempt to reason with her to be antagonistic and she told us our Danish friends had to leave. Extremely confused with this response, we all gulped down our full drinks, paid our tabs (still tipping 20%) and obliged. She easily could have handled the situation with a bit more understanding. We were not being loud, drunk, or rude. It was clear that this bartender (tattoos, permanent scowl) had some kind of axe to grind that night and the sight of an empty foreign beer bottle triggered her to randomly enforce a rule… in a place where no staff ever checks ID and patrons casually and openly do hard drugs. Bye, Troost.
Great cocktail bar with a good atmosphere. It gets busy around 7/8 pm on weekends but calms down by 9/10. Wish they had some more bartenders for the busy periods as it can take a while to get your drink, but the ones they do have currently are very good at what they do. Haven’t had a bad drink there!
Nice place for a good drink. No gimmicks here, just nicely done. I had a very descent whiskey sour and then a Manhattan on tap which was the strongest cocktail I have ever had.
Love this spot come every Friday before my service shift but lately it’s been different schedule of staff today I wasn’t able to get my pre shift drink it was busier than normal which is awesome, but it’s hard to miss me came to the bar first out of 2 others but wasn’t able to place an order before either of them my shift was approaching so I had to leave any who this post is really just please look up acknowledge arrival orders that’s all I’m saying
Super cool, tiny bar with a backyard in the summer (update: Backyard is permanently closed due to zoning license changes, boo). One of the best Hot Toddy's anywhere. Chill music scene and dark lighting and little make-out nooks, even during the day. Very friendly bar tender.
Daily happy hour from 4-8, saves $1 off most drinks. Draft beers are $5 regular price.
Often kept awake until the bar closes due to all the people allowed to drink and yell in front of this place. More nights then not you can see people bringing there drink outside and carrying on for literal hours. I’ve lived around many bars never seen a place do so little to manage there customers. A shame
Really cute bar with outdoor seating. Would come here again!
